GameBadi ("we", "our", or "us") operates the GameBadi mobile application and related services (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read it carefully.

Age requirement: The App is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are under 18, please do not use the App or provide us with any personal information.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

01 Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the GameBadi App. It describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and protection of your personal information. We are committed to transparency and to protecting your privacy.

02 Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly, that we obtain automatically from your use of the App, and that we receive from third-party sign-in providers.

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account & registration: Email address, phone number (if provided), username, password (encrypted), and when you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier and basic profile information.
  • Profile information: Display name, bio, date of birth, gender, gender preference, profile photos, education and work details, interests, personality tags, and any optional profile questions.
  • Gaming information: Games you play, gaming platforms, in-game usernames, preferred games for matching, playstyle tags, and rank information.
  • Location information: Country, city, and district you choose to display; and, if you grant permission, precise or approximate device location for matching and to comply with applicable laws.
  • Communications: Messages and other content you send within the App (e.g. in chat with matches).
  • Support and feedback: Information you provide when you contact us.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
  • Usage information: How you use the App to operate, improve, and secure the service.
  • Location (with your permission): If you enable location access, we collect device location to provide location-based features.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Google Sign-In: If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID and the profile data you have allowed Google to share.
  • Google Play (Android): When you make in-app purchases on Android, payment is processed by Google Play. We may receive transaction identifiers and purchase-related data to deliver and verify purchases.
  • Apple App Store (iOS): When you make in-app purchases or subscribe on iOS, payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive subscription status, transaction identifiers, and related purchase data from Apple (or through our backend verification) to deliver and verify premium features. 03 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and profile.
  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App (including matching, discovery, chat, and premium features).
  • Process and verify in-app purchases and subscriptions (including auto-renewable subscriptions processed by Apple on iOS or Google Play on Android).
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
  • Send you service-related communications (e.g. account security, password reset, important updates).
  • Send optional marketing only if you have agreed; you can opt out at any time.
  • Respond to your requests, support queries, and feedback.
  • Comply with applicable law and protect our and our users' rights and safety.
  • Conduct analytics and troubleshooting to improve the App.

04 Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your data based on: contract performance, legitimate interests, consent (which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligation where applicable.

05 Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:

  • Other users: Your profile information is visible to other users in accordance with your privacy settings.
  • Service providers: Trusted third parties that operate the App (e.g. cloud hosting, authentication, email, payment processing) under confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • Legal and safety: When required by law or to protect rights or safety.
  • Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

06 Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain your account and profile data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data in line with our retention schedule and legal obligations.

How to Delete Your Account

  • Open the GameBadi app.
  • Go to Settings (or Profile).
  • Select "Delete Account" and confirm your choice.

What happens when you delete your account:

  • Your profile, photos, and personal information will be permanently deleted.
  • Your matches and conversations will be removed.
  • Some data may be retained for a limited time for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
  • This action cannot be undone.

07 Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login details confidential.

08 Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, to restrict or object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, use the in-app settings or contact us at the email below.

09 Third-Party Services

The App uses Supabase (auth, database, storage), Google (sign-in and Google Play billing on Android), Apple (App Store billing and subscriptions on iOS), and email service providers. Each has its own privacy policy. Google's policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Apple's policy: apple.com/legal/privacy.

Subscriptions: Auto-renewal, cancellation, and refund requests for subscriptions purchased through the App Store are handled according to Apple's terms and your Apple ID account settings. 10 International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data from the EEA or UK to a country not recognized as providing adequate protection, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).

11 Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 18. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and/or on our website. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the changes.
